My trashabout experience

Hello litter lessening lovers

C’est jour deux of my sincere trashabout efforts for 2021. It was another nice day full of gut, mouth, and foot pain, but I had a great time being out there feeling useful. Thank you’s from strangers go a long way. So many people were kind to me. I would like to think the contractors out there rehabilitating the trails were inspired today by my cleanup efforts. They were just standing around. Upon watching me pick up litter for awhile, they pulled out some brooms and started sleeping up dirt while they waited for whatever they were waiting for. It is starting to look a little better and better out there. I can only do so much each day before my body says no more. If I keep at it I will get stronger too, like last year.

It is so hard for me not to see trash outside while doing anything now. It is a bit of a curse. I have to turn on the blinders. I guess so many people do. I guess it’s a part of life. I don’t know how so many fitness enthusiasts just walk and glide through trash. Take a look at my photos today. I guess there is not much of a choice. Recently I read an article that Philadelphia is ranked among the most unhappiest cities (162nd out of 182 cities) in the United States. https://wallethub.com/edu/happiest-places-to-live/32619. I would like to think my efforts today were helpful in reversing that trend, seeing a random volunteer giving a hoot about the community.

Thanks for reading/sharing in my thoughts. They change as fast as the wind. Though they are not always happy and full of fun, I have a lot of fun expressing myself through writing out the pleasure, pain, joy, or whatever state I am in. Be safe and thanks for sharing your time with me. If you’re ready to see some litter, take a look at my visual story today.

Welcome to Martin Luther King Drive where litter flies off the highway. Let the visual storytelling begin for a 71/20 degree day in March 11, 2021.
At least you have scenery like this to help you ignore it.
Riding through litter – life in the city – a couple more days though and I should have it under control in this area …. for a couple weeks anyway … only a fool would believe it’s not going to come back
How can you see this litter on your ride and not feel bothered?
I guess if you look over at the other side… it balances itself out… sort of… ?
Find of a day: a half gallon of mostly full milk. It’s heavy and smelly – I carried back to trash can #1 when I finished my zone. Usually I find a different kind of drink in concealing bags ? this one was definitely spoiled milk
I got a parking ticket for leaving my scooter in the street – no, but somebody was ticketed and littered it
Here is my famous trash can #1 with some great trail widening work going on behind the scene. I kind of like the zig zag blue trail expansion line in the background. It reminds me of kid bowling with bumpers in the gutter lanes
A nice shot of downtown that caught my attention … Alas, another day another trashabout finished.
Thanks for viewing my visual story. I have fun creating this little show.
