Where to go if you fly to Australia or New Zealand
So you’re flying all the way to the South Pacific? You
are spending a lot of money so I want to share with you
my personal favorite locations. I love outdoor locations,
plants, and wildlife. Also, I like places that preferably
do not cost a lot of money. There are a lot of great
options in between that I won’t mention here, but my locations
shared below are what I would tell you do to if you like to walk
and only have a short time.
Sydney, New South Wales
- Bondi to Coogie walk
- Bondi Beach
- Royal Botanic Gardens
- Queen Victoria Place (upscale mall)
- Sydney Harbor Bridge
- Darling Harbor
- Kings Cross area (at night if you’re daring)
- George Street - walk up and down it (hopefully construction is over)
- Hyde Park (awesome fountain)
Melbourne, Victoria
- Parliament house Fitzroy gardens area
- Collins and Fitzroy streets
- Golden mile heritage trail starts at immigration museum
- Phillip Island sunset penguin watching
- Great Ocean Road to 12 Apostles
- Royal Botanic Gardens and Anzac Memorial
- Southbank area
- Australian Rules football match
- St Kilda pier and botanical gardens
North Island, New Zealand
- Rotorua (city) thermal pools – Wai-a-taupo trip especially
- Lake Taupo, Huka Falls walk
- Wellington’s NZ national museum
- Auckland’s Mt. Eden

- Maori cultural tour
South Island, New Zealand
